Cheese producers savor fast-track processing plant

Bel Brands USA, was facing a big challenge. Production of their Mini Babybel cheese was only meeting 50 percent of U.S. demand. We fast-tracked building engineering design for the new 170,000-square-foot greenfield facility. Unique plant features include four separate chilled water systems to accommodate the different temperatures required for coolers, processes and HVAC. Plant automation, equipment, processing and efficiency make it a flagship facility. By applying our expertise in utility system design and our understanding of the LEED certification criteria, our design supported our client’s Corporate Social Responsibility development policy.
