Austin Straubel International Airport’s existing rescue facility lacked operational efficiency. Its life safety, building code violations and deteriorating condition made renovations infeasible. After reviewing the needs and requirements, our team created a new aircraft rescue firefighting facility that was cohesive and state-of-art, with operational efficiencies to support the airport’s firefighting requirements.
The entire building is equipped with an in-floor hydronic heat system, maintaining a comfortable environment at the floor level and helping to quickly dry the apparatus bay floors when rain water or snow is brought into the building.
