In 2016 we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, and plans for this momentous occasion have already begun.  Preservation50 is leading the charge to organize the planning efforts for the celebration.  According to the website, “Preservation50 is the United States’ 4-year effort to plan, celebrate, and learn from the achievements and challenges of the National Historic Preservation Act’s first five decades and to assure historic preservation’s vibrant future in America.”

There are a variety of ways you can provide input on how to celebrate and to get involved in the planning.  A very simple way is to take a few minutes to complete a survey on Preservation50’s website at www.preservation50.org, under the Get Involved tab.  Take a little time to explore the website to learn more about this initiative and other ways to get involved.
