Culver named Human Resources Professional of the Year

Last month, the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Ogletree Deakins announced three winners of the 2017 Human Resources Professional of the Year Award. Mead & Hunt is proud to share that Wendy Culver, our HR Director, is the HR Professional of the Year for medium-sized companies in Wisconsin.

According to WMC, “The award was presented to these individuals in recognition of their outstanding achievement in the field of human resources and a strong record of giving back to the community and the human resources profession.”

We can certainly attest to that. In her 21 years with our firm, Wendy has been instrumental in taking the HR department from a one-person role to a staff of 10. She has guided the team into expansion, focusing on benefits, recruitment and retention, a corporate university, compliance training and employee communications.

“Wendy’s ability to grow personally and professionally with the growth of the organization makes her a great role model for not only HR professionals but all employees,” said Raj Sheth, CEO of Mead & Hunt. “Wendy exemplifies what a complete HR professional should be. From creating policies that are employee-centered to keeping the organization in full compliance with all the labor laws, she excels in her role.”

Human Resources is often a balancing act between compliance and process development that focuses on helping people do their best work. We’re excited to see Wendy recognized for her efforts in this regard. Congratulations, Wendy!
